US Tax Manager

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversight of U.S. operations Accounting for Income Taxes for financial reporting purposes (quarterly and annual reporting of tax provision) including research, and computations, deferred tax analysis, disclosures etc. to ensure compliance with IFRS
  • Oversee the U.S. tax compliance function including managing information gathering process and preparation of separate company U.S. federal income tax Form 1120 ProForma, along with the preparation of the consolidated U.S. federal and state tax returns, including all related forms, elections, and statements
  • Oversee and assist with indirect tax returns preparation as needed 
  • Manage information flow for all direct and indirect tax audits and quantify exposures.
  • Preparing quarterly estimated tax payment calculations
  • Responsible for staying current with tax law and regulations and assist in monitoring U.S. tax law changes impacting U.S. operations.
  • Manage information for the compilation of annual transfer pricing documentation
  • Perform research on U.S. federal tax issues as needed.
  • Timely respond to and resolve correspondence and notices from federal and state tax authorities
  • Prepare supporting documentation for U.S. current and deferred tax balances for quarterly and year-end financial statement audits
  • Provide assistance and support to other departments as it relates to U.S. Taxes as needed.   
  • Support corporate growth initiatives and provide strategic tax analysis and recommendations as it relates to tax issues impacting the U.S. business
  • Identify tax issues and trends that may impact business activities and proactively work to reduce company risk, compliance, and implement process improvements to better leverage department resources

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Master's in Tax is a plus
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA/CA)
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in federal and state tax compliance
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. income tax laws and regulations
  • Excellent computer skills with demonstrated analytic skills, experience with Income Tax software
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to act independently and take ownership of assigned areas 

Salary and benefits will be dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications.

This position is based in the greater north west Minneapolis area (Otsego).
