Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

K:        Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing, IT, Engineering or equivalent.  1-3 years’     experience. Grain handling industry experience preferred.  Strong understanding of basic business     principles required.  Valid driver’s license required.

S:         Computer skills: Advanced level in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and VBA 
            Strong mathematics, statistics, data mining and analytical skills 
    Strong verbal/written communication skills, specifically related to presentations and sales
            Strong interpersonal skills: relationship building, listening, team building, and conflict resolution
            Leadership skills including: coaching, training, delegating

Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. Works with Finance, Operations and the Sales Product Manager to analyze costs and pricing.
  2. Works with the Sales Product Manager to develop pricing policies. 
  3. Partners with the Sales team to create contract-winning proposals for current and prospective clients.
  4. Works with Engineering and the Sales Product Manager to develop quote programs.
  5. Oversees revisions to the quote program to ensure consistency. 
  6. Assists in developing and adhering to yearly sales budget for all markets.
  7. Ensures strategic plans are developed and carried out, corporate goals are reached in the most efficient and effective manner and that operational/technical issues are addressed.
  8. Performs additional related duties as requested or required.

Physical/Visual/Mental Demands:

Position requires ability to react to fast pace customer and company demands; verbally converse with other individuals; operate an automobile; move and lift objects up to 50 pounds.  Requires use of office equipment including telephone, personal computer, and calculator, copy and fax machine. At times will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment when entering production areas and working near moving equipment and machinery. May be exposed to noise, dust, and cold/hot temperatures when working in production areas.

Typical Working Conditions:
Person in this position would work in an office environment.  They would work alone at times, as well as with customers and other employees with limited supervision.   Normal work hours would be Monday through Friday between 7am-5pm. Overtime may be required on weekdays, weeknights, or weekends. Regular attendance required.

Nature of Supervision Received:
Work is performed under the supervision of the Product Manager. This supervision is to assign objectives, assist in prioritization of tasks, to review results of efforts and to offer guidance and feedback. Responsibility for the means to accomplish the objectives rests with the person in the position. Works independently and within authority limits and experience level.  Incumbent must establish priorities and independently set daily objectives to meet deadlines and address urgent situations as they occur.

Judgment Exercised/Decisions Made:
Requires the ability to comprehend and evaluate facts and arrive at a decision consistent with company standards and procedures. Must be thorough and accurate in making selections, determining product specifications, and monitoring current performance. Decisions are required as to which procedures are applicable to a given situation and how best to obtain results consistent with company practice.

Financial Responsibility:
Substantial financial loss could occur if work specifications are incorrect, which would lead to inefficient use of company capital.  Technical responsibilities and support of our business is key to ongoing success and profitability. The person in this position is in control of or makes recommendations on pay plans, contracts, equipment prices and promotions. 

Responsibilities for Business Contacts:

Requires extensive face-to-face and telephone contact with current and prospective customers as well as employees.  Tact and resourcefulness will result in maintaining successful relationships and will enhance our opportunity to expand.
