Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Daily punctuality and attendance are critical as other departments rely on assembler's parts and materials to get finished products to either another dept or out to customer's by the deadline established.

Must be able to work consistently in a safe and efficient manner with a variety of products,  various components, to finish NECO products for sales to customers.

Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled and/or must be able to read and understand a work order, blue print and tape measure and tailor assembly accordingly to varying specifications.

Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners, using hand tools and portable power tools.

May remove small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts.

May perform assembly as specialist in one area or rotated to other areas where customer or shop demands dictate.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area on an ongoing basis.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
NOTE: In the Fan & Heater dept. and the sub-assemblies in Dryer Dept skills like pipe-fitting and some background/or experience in electrical wiring of motors are preferable, though not necessarily a requisite as we can do on-the-job training. 

Language Skills                                                       

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations, to supervisors and to co-workers of the organization.

Mathematical Skills                                                              

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret blue prints and tape measures.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use both hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with both hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.
