    Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Prepare technical drawings, engineering calculations, design guidelines, and specifications of control systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements. 
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment; develop interfaces and software to perform required engineering tasks. 
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations to compute design standards or specifications. 
  • Direct or coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, troubleshooting, manuals, documentation, or testing activities of control systems to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, or customer requirements. 
  • Design, develop, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, sensors, components, products, interfaces, and software for control systems by following lean product development principles.  
  • Plan or implement research and development methodology or procedures to apply engineering principles to projects. 
  • Prepare bill of materials and specifications for purchased materials or equipment. 
  • Oversee project design and production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within established budget. 
  • Develop timelines, budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs. 
  •  Compile data and write reports regarding existing or potential electrical engineering studies or projects.  
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards. 
  • Design and integrate innovative and world-class control systems to improve overall efficiency, ease of use and value of Global products. 
  • Confer with product engineers, customers, or vendors to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products. 
  • Represent control systems group in meetings with suppliers, subcontractors, licensors, customers, design teams, and other disciplines and functions within company. 
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts for design to market speed, lean product development, and innovative designs. 
  • Provide leadership, coordination, and communication between design teams and partnered vendors and suppliers  
  • Lead, supervise, coach, or train control systems group team members as necessary.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education

Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or closely related field of study from an accredited college/university.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering work experience in control systems design and integration with strong focus on sensors/controls, PLC, HMI, and SCADA design and programming.

  • Experience in motion, drive, position, measurement, process sensors and data acquisition and control system design.

  • Experience in successfully working and interacting with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other stakeholders at multi-levels of responsibility in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong system analysis, problem solving, and analytical skills.

  • Innovative, self-motivated, and well organized.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail, and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.

  • Ability to lead and manage designing and conducting of systematic, objective, accurate, safe, and result-driven research and product development processes.

  • Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and excellent customer relationship skills.  
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and/or have strong teamwork skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Detailed knowledge of NEMA Codes and Regulations, NEC electric code, UL Standards, EN and CE requirements, and other related industry standards and codes

  • Experience in developing software for various PLC and HMIs

  • Experience in Ethernet, networking, remote I/O ,Modbus, ISObus

  • AutoCAD and/or Inventor knowledge and experience

  • General understanding of grain storage, handling, and conditioning products

  • Hands-on project experience, competency to diagnose and troubleshoot control systems components, sensors, hardware, and software
  • Previous experience in supervising and leading a group of engineers a/o engineering staff
