AGI teams across our global facilities supported a range of local causes to support food security and well-being, training and social development, and build environmental awareness. A few key stories of impact in each of the regions where we operate are highlighted below.

Canada

The AGI Olds team in Alberta provided monthly donations of healthy food to internal food bank programs at three local churches. They also provided an annual donation to the 41st Henry Sonnenberg Community Christmas Dinner, an organization that provides a holiday dinner to seniors, individuals experiencing homelessness and those who cannot afford the cost of a meal at home.

AGI teams in Vaughan and Toronto, Ontario collected canned goods and donations for the Vaughan Food Bank and Daily Bread Food Banks.

 

Employees at our Oak Bluff, Manitoba facility participated in blood drives in support of the Canadian Red Cross Society. The team also supported a range of well-being causes including volunteering at the Walk so Kids Can Talk event by Kids Help Phone and supporting the Youth Addictions Stabilization Unit through a cycling fundraising event and collecting most needed items for participants.

The AGI Nobleford team in Alberta worked with Career Transitions, an organization which aims to improve the school-to-work transition for Southwestern Alberta youth. AGI team members presented on the welding trade and basic welding skills to local school divisions with the aim of inspiring youth to get involved in the trade.
AGI supported Curling Canada by sponsoring the 2023 Brier, a top men’s curling championship, to recognize and celebrate the important role curling plays in bringing people together in communities across the country.

United States

The AGI team in Naperville, Illinois, collected non-perishable food items for a local food bank, Loaves and Fishes. To increase employee engagement, the cans were collected and organized in the form of an AGI grain storage silo.
Our Clay Center facility in Kansas contributed to a range of local causes. A few examples including holding a food drive for The Lighthouse, a local food bank, participated in a blood drive in support of the American Red Cross Society, and supported a team for Relay for Life (American Cancer Society event). Our Grand Island, Nebraska location supports several local organizations and initiatives, including the Heartland United Way’s Annual Campaign, the GRACE Cancer Foundation, and various community development organizations such as the Hall County Agricultural Committee, which focuses on “educating youth on the importance of agriculture through agricultural awareness and educational events."
The AGI team in Lenexa, Kansas supported a range of local organizations. The team held a food drive to collect non-perishable food items to support Harvesters, a local food bank. They also participated in a blood drive to support the American Red Cross Society and held a fundraising bowling event for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. The team in Marshall, Illinois adopted a 2-mile stretch of highway to keep clean, and volunteers collected waste.

Brazil

The AGI team in Brasil provided monthly food donations to the Soup Institution in Assis, Brasil, and provided in kind-donations and supplies to Holy House.

India

AGI Bengaluru supported the local Lions Club in a range of local community development projects including upgrading and renovating the Lions Club old age home in Devarachikkanahalli through the construction of a chimney and supporting the construction of a shelter and computer centre renovation for the Madhuranagara School.
