Safely equipping your liquid storage tanks
In Canada, AGI designs and manufactures ULC listed tanks that are purpose-built for fuel storage. ULC stands for Underwriters Laboratories of Canada and is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada which oversees the national standardization system. ULC is a requirement for obtaining a fuel storage permit across Canada except where exempt. ULC listed tanks are required on farm in Manitoba, but not on Saskatchewan and Alberta farms.
ULC listed liquid storage tanks can be single or dual wall and purchased in horizontal, vertical or rectangular configurations. A horizontal dual wall tank has a primary tank contained 300 degrees with a secondary wall. You can inspect the space between the walls (interstitial space) for leaks. The dual wall design provides an extra layer of insurance, giving you confidence that the tank will not leak due to corrosion.
ULC listed tanks come with a properly sized emergency vent designed to stay sealed unless there’s pressure build up in the tank. In an emergency the vent will open and allow air to escape the tank. There is also an emergency vent on the interstitial space as a safeguard. Tanks come with a properly sized vented cap which is designed for diesel fuel. Tanks in gasoline storage applications will require a specialty cap.
Pump packages
We offer a variety of turnkey tank packages on AGI tanks 11,000L and smaller. These packages include either 12V or 115V pumps. Our pump packages go through a rigorous testing process that covers every tank, as well as the hose, meter/filter fittings and nozzle prior to shipment to ensure there are no leaks in the discharge assembly.
Pump packages come with a high hose retriever which keeps the hose organized and off the ground. The nozzle can be removed from the holder and stretched out without tangling the hose or having it drag across the ground.
Heavy-duty skids
AGI tanks are available without skids, with standard skids or with heavy-duty skids. The heavy-duty skids come with collision bollards on all four corners, forklift pockets and a tow bar. The biggest advantage of a heavy-duty skid is a greater distribution of the weight of the tank across a larger surface area.
